Public Feedback Wanted on Two New Dog Parks

The City of Windsor is looking to add to the list of dog parks within the city by installing one in Elizabeth Kishkon Park and another at Oakwood Park, and we want your input!

As noted in the City of Windsor Parks and Outdoor Recreation Master Plan, more dog parks are coveted in our city, and based on the criteria and factors identified within the Dog Park Policy, Elisabeth Kishkon Park and Oakwood Park were identified as the highest rated potential locations for new dog parks.

Windsor City Council has earmarked $880,000 in the capital budget for new dog park development projects, and once feedback from public consultation can be factored in, the new dog parks could be ready for the summer of 2023.

The surveys will be open until Saturday, July 16, 2022.

About the Parks:

Elizabeth Kishkon Park is currently home to a fully accessible playground, basketball court, parking lot, two woodlots with recreational multi-use trails and a large open green space, and construction of a washroom facility is expected in the near future.

Oakwood Park is known for its woodlot with walking and recreational multi-use trails, its connection to the Herb Grey Parkway Trail, and the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex.
