City Asks Residents to Contact 311 via App or On-line for Flooding

The City of Windsor is asking residents who see or are experiencing flooding from today’s deluge to contact 311 via the Windsor 311 Mobile App or through 311 online. “This is a significant rainfall that is causing issues for homes and on roadways,” said City Engineer Mark Winterton. “And we know contacting 311 might not be a top priority for homeowners right at the moment but by using the app at their convenience we’ll be taking the numbers and locations of those flooded and we’ll add that information to our growing database to help plan for a future where flooding becomes less and less of an issue”. Some city streets are flooded and should be avoided if possible. City crews are out and dealing with areas of concern but drivers are urged to stay off roadways until the rain subsides and the system has a chance to clear the water away. Along with millions of dollars being spent on long-term flood mitigation efforts the City also offers help for homeowners through its basement flooding subsidy program and also provides other information on safeguarding your home against flooding. All can be found on the City of Windsor website. The best method to contact 311 currently is through the 311App or the online system on the City website.
