First-degree murder charge laid in Forest Glade shooting

A 23-year-old Windsor man has been charged with first-degree murder following a deadly shooting in Forest Glade Wednesday evening, prompting plans for a community meeting by a city councilor.

At roughly 7:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to the area of Forest Glade Drive and Wildwood Drive for a report that a person had been shot.

Officers located the individual, a 23-year-old man, inside a vehicle with “significant injuries consistent with being shot multiple times,” police said in a news release on Thursday. The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Once there, he was pronounced deceased.

A second man, age 23, was reportedly also inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting. He suffered injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Investigators quickly identified a suspect and contained a residence in the 2700 block of Lynngrove Crescent. At around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, the suspect left the residence and was arrested without incident.
