Free Admission Day at Chimczuk Museum
In celebration of Canadian Heritage Week, Museum Windsor is pleased to announce a free admission day at the Chimczuk Museum on Saturday, February 19, 2022. New donations will be on display including a parlor chair that belonged to a Windsor family descended from formerly enslaved people, and a community quilt that was created by Windsor Essex Sewing Force (WESF). The quilt is in honor and recognition of those who played a part in getting masks on faces and caps on heads during the pandemic resulting from a call from Windsor Regional Hospital highlighting a need for homemade cloth masks.
While on site, visitors are invited to sign the Museum’s COVID Memory Book and share their thoughts on living through a pandemic. This book will form part of the museum’s COVID collection currently being assembled for the benefit of future residents. There will also be crafts and activities for kids of all ages at both the Chimczuk Museum and the François Baby House.
Please note that visitors are required to wear a mask while in the museum, maintain social distancing of 2 meters, and please complete an online COVID-19 health screening before accessing either museum.
